Rural Support Trust BBQ

Last Tuesday we packed up the BBQ Trailer, the bread rolls and a box full of sausages and venison patties, kindly donated by Meat Solutions Richmond and headed off to a very cold wet and windy Murchison. (Just ask Toby about what’s left of the gazebo!!)

We almost didn’t get the bread either as Sharyn was evacuated from the shop mid bread pick up due to a fire alarm.

37 Matakitaki Road, Murchison is a 173 HA Dairy farm, located close to Murchison township that we sold in back in January. With settlement day fast approaching at the beginning of June the current owners invited us to come and host a BBQ at their clearing sale.

We couldn’t turn it down!

There was food galore and we even had Krystal out of the office on the grill. We raised over $500 that is being donated to the Rural Support Trust. This is an organisation that we are really proud to get behind and help when we can. As we all know that running a farm can certainly have it’s moments. It was a great opportunity to have Graham Thomson, one of the Trustees of the RST braving the elements and giving us a hand too.

Despite the fresh snow on the hills, lost gazebo, false fire alarm – it was a great turn out and a very successful day for us, the Rural Support Trust and the Clearing Sale.
